A Guelph woman is facing charges after allegedly stealing a bearded dragon from a pet store

The lizard was stolen from the Edinburgh Road store last month.

A few days after it was stolen, store employees received a call telling them the animal had been left outside the shop, in a box.

It was found, but died not long after.

Guelph Police say a woman turned herself into police in connection with the theft on Thursday.

The 23-year-old woman now faces one charge of theft.
