The provincial government is putting $1 million toward a major expansion at a Guelph-based auto parts manufacturer.

The funding for Teutech was announced Friday by Guelph MPP Liz Sandals, at the company’s Massey Road plant.

In total, Teutech expects to spend $10 million on its expansion, which it says will create 50 jobs in the community.

“We know there is increasing demand for our products and we can meet that demand by expanding our operations and by modernizing and automating our operations with this funding,” company CEO Tony Steer said in a press release.

The expansion is expected to be complete by 2020.
