Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health had issued warnings for two local beaches, those have now been lifted.

Guelph Lake and Belwood Quarry were given a “posted” status by the health board as of Thursday morning, by midday that status had been lifted to reflect as "open".

“Posted” status means that it’s recommended you shouldn’t swim in these lakes, "open" means the opposite, that lakes and beaches are safe for swimmers.

According to the public health website “beaches are  “posted” when levels of E. coli are higher than the Ministry guidelines.”

All  lakes and beaches that fall under Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health’s watch are open and swimmable.
