A Guelph man is facing charges in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a young girl.
Guelph Police say they were notified about the case Sunday afternoon, and sent officers to the city’s south end to investigate.
As a result, a 68-year-old man was arrested on charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.
Police say the victim in the case is an eight-year-old girl, who was not physically injured.
Sexual interference is the name given to the criminal act of touching the body of a person under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose.
