A Guelph man has been fined $3,000 for various violations of Ontario’s hunting laws.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, authorities were tipped off last fall to an allegation that the man had shot three black bears, despite his hunting licence only allowing him to shoot one.

An investigation found that the allegations were true, and also that the man didn’t attach his game seal to any of the bears.

An Orillia resident was also fined $1,000 for having the bears in his possession, because they were killed illegally.
