Halloween may be more than a week away, but that didn’t stop hundreds of people from teeming into downtown Elora Saturday night to celebrate.

The annual Monster March parade brought out big crowds – all of whom were invited to march along Metcalfe and Mill streets themselves.

Volunteers lined the parade route to collect donations for the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

After that ended, many parade-goers moved on to the Elora Centre for the Arts to check out the Twilight Zoo put together by local artist Tim Murton.

Murton describes the Twilight Zoo as a “totally unique Halloween experience” that has grown every year since he started it in 1996.

“It’s the most creative holiday of the year,” he said in an interview.

“Christmas is about buying things. Halloween is about making things.”

The Twilight Zoo is open every day until Halloween, except for Mondays and Tuesdays. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
