The family of a missing Guelph man is struggling to hold out hope for his safe return.

It has been 20 days with no word from 24-year-old Cody Thompson.

“It’s like he just vanished,” says his uncle Patrick Thompson.

“He is very close to his mother and his father. If he hadn’t spoken with his dad in two days, he would definitely have spoken with his mother or his brother, and no one has heard from him.”

His aunt Jhana Lentz says that Thompson was very dependent on his family and leaving without a word is simply not something he would do.

He was last seen in the Willow and Dawson road area on the afternoon of April 1, 2016.

A cell phone call to his father was the last contact Thompson had with his family or friends.

Police have been searching for  him throughout Guelph but so far have no leads as to his whereabouts.

He sometimes lived on Woolwich Street with his girlfriend and frequently hung out in that area, as well as in the downtown. He had been living with his father short term on Skov Crescent.

Thompson is described as being 5’8” and 130 lbs with brown eyes and hair.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective constable Scott Biser at 519-824-1212 ext. 7131 or CRIMESTOPPERS.
