A food recall issued mid-May, 2016, involving Quaker Harvest granola bars has been updated to include additional products that may be contaminated with Listeria.

Quaker Harvest brand Quinoa Bars and Spitz brand Sunflower Kernels may have listeria contamination.

Consumers are being advised not to consume the following products.

Quaker Harvest Quinoa Granola Bars - Chocolate Nut Medley and Quinoa Granola Bars - Yogurt, Fruit & Nut with all lot codes and best before dates, the UPC codes 0 55577 11021 8 and 0 55577 11020 1, as well as Spitz Salted Sunflower Kernels and Dill Pickle Sunflower Kernels , all lot codes and best before dates, the UPC codes 0 69579 21000 5 and 0 69579 21001 2 are recalled and should be returned to the store they were purchased from.

The recall was brought on by the company. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting further food safety investigations to determine if there are other products related to these that have cause for Listeria concerns.

So far there have been no reports of anyone becoming ill due to these foods.
