A Wellington County man has been charged after a bar employee saw someone put something into a female customer’s drink.

Guelph police were called around 12:10 Monday morning to a bar on Woodlawn Road West when a staff member saw a man pour a liquid into a woman’s drink.  The woman was informed, then police were called.

Officers were pointed to the suspect when they arrived, and he was arrested in the bar.  Searching the man, police discovered a bottle labeled “Spanish Fly”.

A 48-year-old man from Grand Valley has been charged with “administer noxious substance” and “possession of a controlled substance”.  He is expected in court at the end of September.
