One man has been found dead at the bottom of the Elora Gorge.

Firefighters were called to the gorge around 2 p.m. Friday after the man’s body was discovered by a passerby.

Centre Wellington fire chief Brad Patton tells CTV News a man’s body was found in the gorge near Victoria Park, which is just east of the Elora Gorge Conservation Area.

The man appeared to be in his 30s, Patton said.

Parts of the park were taped off for several hours as police investigated the man’s death.

Details on the man’s identity and the circumstances of his death were not available as of Friday evening.
