Police continue to treat the case of a man found dead near the Erin town centre as a homicide.

No arrests have been made in connection with the case in the three months since the death.

On Dec. 17, 65-year-old Frederick John Hatch was found dead in a wooded area near Wellington Road 124 and the 10th Line in the Town of Erin.

Details on his cause of death have never been made public, past the point that police consider him to be a victim of homicide.

Hatch had no fixed address and was known to hitchhike.

According to the OPP, he was last seen alive on the afternoon of Dec. 16, in the Ottawa-area community of Nepean.

It is believed he somehow ended up in Erin either that night or early the next morning.

Police describe him as a heavyset man with grey, shoulder-length hair and a grey moustache which curved downward.

On Dec. 16, he was wearing blue jeans, a dark hoodie and a jean vest featuring pictures of Disney characters, and carrying a red and black duffel bag.
