A woman has been charged after being hit by a vehicle on Willow Road in Guelph.

Police say a pedestrian was struck around 10 a.m. Monday while attempting to cross the street. 

A woman ran onto Willow Road in front of city bus that was stopped at a bus stop.  An eastbound vehicle veered into oncoming traffic in an attempt to avoid hitting her.  The right front fender struck the woman.

Paramedics transported the woman to Guelph General Hospital to be treated for a concussion.

After investigating the incident, Guelph police charged the woman with failing to use the crosswalk.
