A Guelph man is facing charges in connection with an incident that brought the Guelph Police tactical team to the Carden Street transit terminal.

Police say they were called to the terminal around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, in response to a report of several people fighting in the area.

Police were told that a handgun was part of the altercation.

Responding officers placed a 29-year-old man under arrest and seized a pellet gun.

The man faces charges of assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, using a firearm in commission of an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.
