Researchers in Guelph are studying the squirrel population to uncover what impact they are having on the city.

Students from the University of Guelph Animal Biology program are trapping squirrels around the city.  Once trapped they are taking detailed samples and measurements, then releasing them with tags so their movements can be monitored.

Biologists believe the research will help with understanding how some animals like squirrels flourish and how others have been pushed towards massive decline.
