The operator of a taxi business in Fergus has been fined for failure to play an employee everything the employee was entitled to.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Danial Ward Warren of Dan’s Taxi was found to have owed an employee $14,561 for not paying them minimum wage and termination pay.

In December, he was ordered to pay that amount.

An investigation found that the money was never paid, after which Warren was charged with and convicted of failure to comply with an officer’s order under Ontario’s Employment Standards Act.

As a result, he was ordered to pay the amount owing as well as a $15,000 fine.
