Truck driver snaps hydro pole, drags power lines through Caledon before arrest: OPP

A truck driver is facing charges after police say the driver knocked down a hydro pole and power lines in Caledon before attempting to flee the area.

Officers from the Caledon Ontario Provincial Police Community Mobilization Unit spotted the truck on Damascus Drive leading to an arrest.

Investigators say officers quickly foiled the driver’s attempt to escape and took the commercial vehicle out of service after an inspection revealed major defects.

Police report both the driver and the trucking company have been charged. The extent of charges remain unclear.

No injuries were reported.
