'Deadpool 2' shoot attracts stargazers and critics in Vancouver

The “Deadpool 2” film shoot is in full swing in downtown Vancouver, where feelings are mixed over the high-profile project starring native son Ryan Reynolds.

While fans flock to the downtown shooting locations to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood star, others are griping about the traffic congestion that comes with the shoot. On Tuesday, for instance, a busy stretch of West Hastings Street was shut down from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.

But many superfans say they don’t care about the inconvenience, if it means they’ll get a chance to glimpse the Merc with the Mouth or his hunky alter ego.

Reynolds sightings have been scarce in recent days, but the actor has been actively sharing content from the movie set on social media.

On Monday, Reynolds shared the first images of co-star Josh Brolin as Cable, the hard-edged mutant cyborg from the future.

The Cable images were met with near-universal praise from fans of the comics, many of whom declared it a “perfect” recreation of the futuristic hero.

Reynolds also shared the first photos of the film’s female lead, Zazie Beetz as Domino, last week.
