Murder charge laid after sudden death investigation in Norfolk County

Norfolk County OPP have charged one person in relation to a sudden death investigation in Simcoe.

Police were originally called for a well-being check at a residence on Norfolk Street just before 3 p.m. April 22.

When officers arrived, they found one person deceased.

Their investigation has led to the arrest of one person who has been charged with second-degree murder and fail to comply with a probation order.

The names of the victim and accused are being withheld due to a court-ordered publication ban.

The accused remains in custody, and police say this was an isolated incident with no threat to public safety.

The investigation remains ongoing.
