Police charge London woman after early‑morning crash causes $20K in damage

A London woman is facing charges after the vehicle she was driving struck property in a residential neighbourhood, police say.

Police said officers were called around 7:30 a.m. Sunday after a vehicle travelling southbound on Chesley Avenue approached Dame Street and drove onto the front lawn of a home.

The vehicle struck another vehicle and a fence before the driver got out and walked away.

A witness reported the incident to police and provided a description of the driver. Officers later located and arrested the woman on Chesley Avenue, north of Stedwell Street.

No injuries were reported. Police estimate damage at about $20,000.
