Elliot Lake man arrested by police a second time for new offences

East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police say a 19-year-old Elliot Lake man faces additional charges after his first arrest Nov. 25, 2025.

He was initially charged in connection to structure and vehicle arsons in the city dating back to Sept. 2024.

“As part of the investigation, numerous electronic devices were seized and history searches revealed child pornography,” said police in a news release June 11.

“The man has been charged with possession and access of child pornography.”

Police said the man is now in custody and was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
