With the recent heat wave in Greater Sudbury, swimmers will soon be able to take advantage of lifeguard supervised municipal beaches as of Saturday.

In a release Tuesday, the city said supervision at the seven city beaches will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

They include the Bell Park main beach, Moonlight, Capreol, Nepahwin, Centennial Park in Whitefish, Whitewater Lake Park in Azilda and Kalmo on Whitson Lake in Val Caron.

“Parents are reminded that lifeguards are not a substitute for adult supervision, and children must be supervised and within arm’s reach of an adult caregiver at all times,” the release said.

“Older children are reminded to swim with a buddy for greater safety.”
