North Bay woman charged with assaulting man, threatening him with a knife

A 46-year-old North Bay woman is charged with assault and drug trafficking, among other offences, following an incident on Oct. 19.

Police received a report that the victim was in a parking lot outside of his residence when the attack occurred.

"Unprovoked, the accused exited her residence, yelling at the victim," police said in a news release Tuesday.

"The accused then assaulted the victim and went back inside her residence to retrieve a knife. Returning with the knife, the accused approached the victim in a threatening manner. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries as a result of the incident."

She was arrested at 1:15 p.m. the same day and it emerged that not only was she on probation, but a search after her arrest uncovered six grams of fentanyl, pepper spray and a hunting knife.

The drugs have a street value of about $2,000 and she also had $2,100 in cash.

Charges include carrying assault with a weapon, violating probation, drug trafficking and two counts of carrying a concealed weapon.

"The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse," police said.
