Sault police charge man with assault with a weapon

A 28-year-old man was charged Thursday by police in Sault Ste. Marie after a person was struck with an object.

“Officers were called to the 0-100 block of Allard Place before 9 a.m. to investigate a report of an assault with a weapon,” police said in a news release.

“An investigation revealed the accused struck the victim with an object.”

The victim, who is known to the accused, sustained minor injuries.

The suspect was charged with assault with a weapon and is to appear in court Aug. 31.
