Sleeping Thunder Bay driver had $150K in vehicle, police say

Police in Thunder Bay say officers found a driver asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle with the motor running in the Picton Avenue and Blucher Cresent area of the city June 5.

“A search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of over 115 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 587 grams of suspected crack cocaine, cash, and items associated with drug trafficking,” police said in a news release.

“The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $150,000.”

Police said a 49-year old Brampton man was remanded into custody following a court appearance.
