Thunder Bay Police charge 50-year old man with child sex abuse offences

A Thunder Bay man has been charged with several offences after city police received a report from another agency about child sexual abuse and exploitation activities.

Police received the report on April 23 and further investigation led to a suspect being identified.

“Six days later, officers searched a home on the city’s south side and seized multiple electronic devices,” police said in a news release.

“Wednesday, a suspect surrendered at the Thunder Bay Police Service station.”

The 50-year old man is charged with luring, arranging to commit a sexual offence and possession for the purpose of publication of child abuse and sexual exploitation material.

Police said the man was released from custody following a court appearance.
