Timmins police seize more than $61K in drugs and cash

Timmins police seized more than $60,000 in cash and drugs and charged three local men after raiding a Borden Avenue home.

Three people from Timmins have been charged after police raided a residence June 2 near Borden Avenue in the city.

Armed with a search warrant, officers entered the residence around 4 p.m., including the emergency response team, as a drone operator watched from overhead.

Inside, police seized 22.9 grams of fentanyl, 0.2 grams of cocaine, 20 meth (‘Ice’) tablets, 15 morphine tablets, 642 Percocet tablets and $43,468 in cash.

Combined, the drugs and cash total about $61,100, police said.

Three men, ages 65, 46 and 42, all from Timmins, have been charged with drug trafficking offences. Two of them were also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

All accused remain in custody and are scheduled to attend bail hearings June 3.

“The Timmins Police Service remains committed to disrupting the trafficking of illicit drugs within our community and protecting the safety and well-being of residents,” police added.
