Work on the Connecting Link in Timmins to continue June 15

While motorists in Timmins may complain about traffic delays, Segment 9 of the city’s ongoing Connecting Link road project is welcome news for residents.

The city said in a news release that GIP Interpaving Ltd. is preparing traffic controls Thursday and Friday for construction.

“Algonquin Boulevard East between Brunette Road and Highway 655 runs approximately 700 metres will be affected with new asphalt, curbs, sidewalks, and traffic medians,” the city said.

“Sections of watermain and storm sewer infrastructure will also be replaced, along with traffic signals at Brunette Road and Highway 655, and streetlights will be upgraded to meet current standards.”

The city said lane reductions will be in effect and access to businesses and properties will not be affected.
