The Ottawa police Service says a 24-year-old man is facing charges following an investigation into alleged distribution of child sexual abuse materials online.
The investigation started after police received information alleging an unknown person “had been sharing illicit content across multiple online platforms,” police said in a news release Friday.
It led to the execution of a search warrant on April 17 at a home in the 1400 block of Prince of Wales Drive, police say.
Christian Young , from Ottawa, has been charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.
He remains in custody.
