Saskatoon man charged after assaulting RCMP officer, damaging police vehicle

A Saskatoon man is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting police officers and damaging a police vehicle in northern Saskatchewan.

At around 1:30 a.m. on June 8, Beauval RCMP officers were called to a home in the community for a report of a man causing disturbance, RCMP said in a news release.

Mounties say an altercation had taken place between a man and a group of people inside the home during which a door was damaged. The man then left the property.

Shortly after police received another report that the same man had damaged a police vehicle parked outside a home in Beauval.

Police say they located the man and when attempting to arrest him, he threatened and assaulted officers.

As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Andrew Aubichon of Saskatoon is charged with several offences, including resisting or obstructing a peace officer, assaulting a police officer, multiple counts of mischief, uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order.

Aubichon made a court appearance in Buffalo Narrows on Wednesday.

Beauval is located about 310 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.
