Smashed car campaign aims to warn drivers about impaired driving risk in Sask.

A sobering display is arriving in Saskatoon this week to remind motorists of the dangers of impaired driving.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and SGI will place a smashed vehicle near the Alice Turner Library on Wednesday, at the intersection of Nelson Road and Attridge Drive.

“The visually impactful campaign features a smashed vehicle placed alongside busy roads and intersections as a reminder of one of the potential consequences of impaired driving,” MADD explained in a news release.

The annual campaign is a partnership between MADD and SGI, with smashed vehicles placed in high traffic locations in various cities around the province.

RCMP Traffic Services says 33 Saskatchewan people were killed in drug or alcohol-related crashes in 2025.
