Hamilton man charged after minor sexually assaulted: Police

A 32-year-old man has been charged after a minor was sexually assaulted in Hamilton, police say.

The suspect picked up a young person in their vehicle and forced them to ingest an unknown substance before sexually assaulting them, police say.

The victim was picked up in the area of Barton Street and Gage Avenue, police say, adding that their investigation began on Oct. 9.

A search was done at the suspect’s residence, yielding two different pellet guns and about 44 grams of methamphetamine, investigators report.

Vintchentso Atanassov, of Hamilton, has been arrested and charged with 10 offences, including charges related to sexual assault, possession of drugs for trafficking, and failure to follow probation orders.
