Domestic violence suspect injured during Langley arrest: IIO

A police watchdog is investigating after a man was injured during an arrest after a reported incident of domestic violence in Langley.

Langley RCMP were called to the scene of an “alleged domestic dispute” near the 4200 block of 208 Street on Friday around 11:20 p.m., the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. said, in a statement.

“Police arrived at the scene and located the man who was the subject of the report. Officers arrested the man, who sustained a serious but not life-threatening injury during the interaction,” the IIO’s statement said.

“He was taken to the hospital for assessment and treatment.”

Investigators will determine whether the man’s injuries meet the threshold of serious harm and whether the man’s injury was connected to police action or inaction.
