Motorcyclist dead after crash with pickup truck in Kamloops

Mounties in Kamloops are trying to determine if there was “any criminality” in a crash that left a motorcyclist dead Monday night.

A patrol officer came upon the scene of the collision at Tranquille Road and 12^th Street at 10:50 p.m., a statement from the Kamloops RCMP said, adding that the 29-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck stayed at the site of the crash and no charges have yet been recommended or approved.

“This is a stark and tragic reminder of the vulnerability of motorcyclists on our roadways,” said Supt. Jeff Pelley, in the statement. “Sadly, incidents like this are all too common, and motorists are urged to be alert to motorcyclists.”
