Suspects ID’d in child’s alleged assault at ‘Kreepy Kastle’ in Surrey, police say

Weeks after a child was allegedly assaulted at a carnival attraction in Surrey, B.C., authorities have managed to identify two adult suspects.

The Surrey Police Service told CTV News neither of the men have been arrested or charged, but that the department plans to submit a report to Crown counsel.

“The investigation is continuing with the second suspect scheduled to be interviewed shortly,” spokesperson Ian MacDonald said in an email Friday.

Police previously said the alleged assault happened April 19 inside a haunted house attraction called “Kreepy Kastle,” which had been set up in a gurdwara parking lot as part of the local Khalsa Day celebrations.

Few details on the incident have been released, but authorities said the victim—an eight-year-old boy—was attacked by two men, and suffered injuries to his neck that required treatment in hospital.

Earlier this month, the Surrey Police Service released suspect images in the hopes of generating tips on their identities. The individuals were described as South Asian males who were wearing dark clothing.

MacDonald said the response from the public helped push the investigation forward.

“We have tackled the biggest challenge of positively identifying the suspects,” he said.
