Hydro restored following outage affecting 3,600 customers near downtown Winnipeg

A hydro outage affecting 3,600 customers in multiple neighbourhoods near downtown Winnipeg has ended.

In a social media post at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, Manitoba Hydro said customers in Osborne Village, Fort Rouge, Earl Grey and Crescentwood were experiencing a “large outage,” affecting 3,600 customers.

According to the crown utility’s outage map, the outage was first reported around 12:40 p.m.

In a follow-up post, the company said the power was restored at 3:30 p.m., citing a fault on a line feeding substations caused the outage.
