Shooting at Winnipeg home leaves man with life-threatening injury

A 21-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital following a shooting Wednesday morning.

A shooting in the city’s Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood has left a man in critical condition with a life-threatening upper body injury.

The Winnipeg Police Service said it responded to a residence in the 600 block of Agnes Street just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, after receiving a report of a shooting.

Police said multiple units from across the city attended the scene and located an injured 21-year-old man. He was provided with lifesaving measures before being transported to hospital in critical condition.

The victim remains in critical condition and due to his injuries, the homicide unit has assumed the investigation.

Police said no arrests have been made at this time.
