Katie Kelly keeps viewers across Atlantic Canada entertained and informed as the entertainment host for CTV News at 6.
A proud Maritimer, Katie grew up on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore, where her passion for the arts and storytelling was developed as a high school reporter for the Guysborough Journal.
After graduating from the Nova Scotia Community College with a diploma in Radio and Television Arts, Katie began her career in radio with Acadia Broadcasting in 2006. While in radio promotions, Katie worked at CKBW, Z103.5 The Beat of Halifax, Evanov Radio Group’s Z103.5 Toronto, and Bell Media’s C100 and 101.3 The BOUNCE in Halifax.
During her time in radio, Katie remained determined to follow her dream of becoming a television host. Her hard work paid off when she was offered a weekly DIY segment on CTV Morning Live, which led to an opportunity to produce a daily “Trending Now” segment. After years of perseverance, Katie achieved her dream role as entertainment host at CTV Atlantic in 2019.
Katie has interviewed international stars such as Sting, Luke Combs and Ed Sheeran. However, her true passion lies in showcasing Atlantic Canada’s thriving arts scene. From seasoned icons to emerging stars, Katie is dedicated to sharing their stories with her audience. Her commitment to supporting and promoting local talent has earned her both an East Coast Music Award and a Music Nova Scotia Award.
Katie is also committed to giving back to her community, supporting charitable initiatives such as Christmas Daddies, the IWK Telethon, and local mental health organizations.
When she’s not on the air, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their two lovable pups, Joey and Roo.
