The popular Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group Lynyrd Skynyrd is coming to Canada, with three stops in the Maritimes.

The 10-stop tour will feature three Atlantic Canadian dates, with one at the Avenir Centre in Moncton on Sept. 22, the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax on Sept. 23, and the Mary Brown’s Centre in St. John’s on Sept. 25.

Originating Jacksonville, Florida, in 1964, the band later became known for songs like “Free Bird” and “Sweet Home Alabama.”

While the original members of the band including Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Steve Gaines, Ed King, Billy Powell, Bob Burns, and Leon Wilkeson have since died, the band’s current lead singer is founding member Ronnie Van Zant’s younger brother, Johnny Van Zant.

The band’s current lineup includes also artists like Rickey Medlocke, Damon Johnson, Mark “Sparky” Matejka, Michael Cartellone, Keith Christopher, Peter Keys, Carol Chase, and Stacy Michelle.

Tickets go on sale for the general public on Friday at around 10 a.m.
