Fashion should be accessible for everyone, and that’s exactly what “The Weight Is Over Revolution” is trying to achieve in our region.
This Friday (June 18th), co-founders Shantia Upshaw and Latika Wiggins are putting on the second ever “Weight Is Over” fashion show. A stylish event geared at putting the spotlight on designers who create clothes for curvy women.
The ladies say it’s hard to find fashion-forward outfits that fit, so they’re bringing the trendy options to the masses in Atlantic Canada’s only fashion show for plus sized women. Seriously, the only one. Shantia and Latika say it’s about more than just looking good, they want their event to empower, enhance and educate full figured women, in addition to connecting them with designers and retailers throughout the country.
The show will feature the creations of both local and national designers and share the talents of some of our region’s premier models. By the way, a big thanks to the beautiful girls who showed off their modeling skills today!
