Police say five people forcefully entered the residence while the homeowners were inside.

One person was armed with a weapon and, according to an RCMP news release, they assaulted one of the homeowners who suffered minor injuries.

The force says the suspects fled the home with undisclosed medications before officers arrived.

“A short time later, two RCMP officers were returning from a community meeting when they came across the fleeing suspects. The officers exited their vehicle and immediately initiated an arrest,” reads the news release.

  • a 62-year-old man
  • a 29-year-old man
  • a 19-year-old man

All four men are from Charlotte County.

Police are still searching for a fifth person in relation to the incident.

The RCMP says the 62-year-old man was released from custody on an appearance notice. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The other three men remain in custody.

Police believe the incident was targeted and says there is no risk to the public.
