Fredericton police seize 21 grams of fentanyl during arrest

The Fredericton Police Force seized fentanyl during a man’s arrest as part of a drug trafficking investigation last month.

According to police, officers arrested Shawn Wright, 48, on Jan. 30. During the arrest they seized 21.07 grams of fentanyl, other drugs, cash and weapons.

Wright, from Fredericton, was charged with:

-possession for the purpose of trafficking

-possession of a controlled substance

-possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000

Wright was held in custody and will appear in court at an unspecified date.
