The New Brunswick RCMP says its Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit recently helped rescue two children in the United States.

The ICE Unit discovered media that allegedly exploited children on Nov. 26, 2024.

Police say they later confirmed that the children were at risk in a home in the United States.

“This information was immediately forwarded to the United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations and further sent to a local police department. A search warrant was executed by U.S. authorities shortly thereafter,” said Cpl. Hans Ouellette in a news release from the RCMP.

The release says local authorities rescued two children under the age of eight during the search and arrested a woman.

The investigation in the U.S. is still ongoing.
