A 30-year-old man has been charged in connection with a child luring investigation in Burton, N.B.

The Oromocto RCMP Detachment learned of a report involving online child luring in the Burton area on March 12, according to a news release from the force.

Police say a 30-year-old Burton man was identified as a person of interest early in the investigation.

The Oromocto RCMP, along with members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit, executed a search warrant Friday at a residence on Route 102. Police say a 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene and several digital devices were seized.

Brady Worden appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday and was charged with:

  • luring a child under the age of 14
  • transmitting child pornography
  • failure to comply with a prohibition order
  • failure to comply with an undertaking

“Due to a previous conviction, Brady Worden was prohibited for life from communicating with anyone under the age of 16 and from attending any place that someone under the age of 16 is reasonably expected to be,” said Sgt. Stéphane Esculier, with the West District RCMP, in a new release.

Worden was remanded into custody and is scheduled to reappear in court on March 20.
