A 68-year-old man from Hillsborough, N.B., has died following a snowmobile crash in Caledonia Mountain, N.B.
Officers responded to a report of a snowmobile crash involving a single off-road vehicle in Caledonia Mountain on Saturday around 9:00 p.m., according to a news release from RCMP.
Police say the crash occurred when the snowmobile veered off the trail and collided with a tree.
The driver, the sole occupant of the snowmobile, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the Alma, and Riverside Albert Fire Departments also attended the scene.
A Forensic Collision Analysis Team and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office are assisting with the investigation, says the release.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man’s exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
