One man was killed in a house fire on a rural road near Havelock, N.B., Saturday morning.
Havelock Fire and Rescue Chief Anthony Demont said they received a call of a fire at a home on Alward Road around 7:30.
Demont said when firefighters arrived a small home was “fully involved” and a car parked next to it was also on fire.
“One fatality, male,” said Demont.
Around 35 firefighters from Havelock and nearby Petitcodiac responded to the call.

“It was a fairly quick knock down. It was not a large building,” he said.
A second building under construction didn’t appear to be damaged.
“The initial building that burned was the original building on the property and they’re building an additional building behind it,” said Demont.
A coroner and members of the Southeast District RCMP were still on scene at mid-morning.
Demont said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
