Man serving 3-year sentence wanted on warrant: Saint John police

The Saint John Police Force is looking for a man who is serving a three-year prison sentence for drug and weapon convictions.

Police say Joshua Carvell, 38, failed to return to the Community Correctional Centre in Saint John. A warrant for his arrest was issued last Friday.

Carvell is serving a three-year, five-month and 15-day sentence for:

-three counts of possession of a Schedule I/II substance for the purpose of trafficking

-two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapons

-possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order

-obstructing a public or peace officer

-an offence under the Motor Vehicle Act of New Brunswick

Carvell is described as standing five-foot-eight and weighing 145 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and a beard with a moustache.

The public is warned not to approach Carvell. Anyone with information on him is asked to call police at 506-648-3333, or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
