A 27-year-old Moncton, N.B., man is facing a child pornography charge following an RCMP investigation that started more than two years ago.

The New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit launched the investigation in October 2022 following a tip from the National Child Exploitation Crime Centre, according to an RCMP news release.

Officers executed a search warrant at a McKenzie Avenue residence in Moncton on Aug. 29, 2024. They arrested a man and seized several electronic devices.

Daniel David Froude was charged with possession of child pornography on March 18 and appeared in Moncton provincial court the following day. He is due back in court for election and plea at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
