Petit-Rocher, N.B., woman dies after car and transport truck collide

A 78-year-old woman from Petit-Rocher, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision in Janeville, N.B.

Chaleur Region RCMP responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Route 11 and Cape Road on Tuesday around 10:25 a.m.

Police say the collision is believed to have happened when a transport truck collided with a car.

“A 78-year-old woman, who was the sole occupant of the car, was transported to hospital, where she later died as a result of her injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the transport truck sustained what were believed to be minor injuries,” a release from the RCMP said.

Members of the Janeville Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, New Brunswick Coroner’s office, Justice and Public Safety and an RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist attended the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
