RCMP arrest Moncton man following drug investigation

Codiac Regional RCMP arrested a 65-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., as part of a drug trafficking investigation, said a Friday news release.

Police arrested the man on March 5 on Mapleton Road and executed search warrants on the man’s vehicle and a residence on Winnipeg Street.

During the searches, police seized what are believed to be cocaine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a substantial, undisclosed amount of cash, said the release.

The man was released and will appear in Moncton Provincial Court on July 8.

Codiac RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit and the New Brunswick Integrated Enforcement Unit started the investigation into illegal drug trafficking in Moncton on Feb. 12.

Anyone with information about, or who suspects, illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood is asked to contact their local police. The investigation is ongoing.
