Three people have been arrested following a break, enter and theft at a NB Power property in Sussex, N.B.

Officers responded to a break and enter in-progress at the NB Power property around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday.

When police arrived, they say officers saw a man fleeing the property on foot. At the same time, officers located a van behind the building with two people inside.

Police arrested both people, a 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman both from Sussex, and recovered stolen items from the vehicle.

A firearm was also located and seized at the time of the arrests, according to an RCMP news release.

A short time later, police say a K9 unit arrived on scene and arrested a 28-year-old man from Sussex Corner, N.B.

All three individuals were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Saint John provincial court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
